Kundan Foundation
Your first hands-on encounter with Kundan, taught on practice materials (silver, copper, and chikni mitti pots) before you ever touch gold. You will learn how the lac base behaves, how a stone seats, and how the eye and hand work together. By the end, you will have made your first finished piece.
Kundan Setting Fundamentals
Master the foundational technique of Kundan stone setting, working with lac, gold foils, and precious stones on prepared metal frameworks.
Bridal Kundan Mastery
Move from practice metals to real 24K gold. Learn to build a complete bridal set the way it is built in Jaipur — necklace, earrings, maang tikka — with polki and precious stones. This is the same workflow Chandan ji uses every day in commissions.
✦ Skills You'll Develop
The Art of Creation
Every piece passes through five stages of meticulous craftsmanship
Design
Every piece begins with a hand-drawn design on paper, mapping each stone placement and enamel pattern.
Framework
The gold base is shaped and prepared with lac (natural resin) to hold the stones securely.
Kundan Setting
Precious and semi-precious stones are carefully set into the gold framework using thin gold foils.
Meenakari
The reverse side is adorned with vibrant enamel work, hand-painted colors fired at precise temperatures.
Final Polish
The finished piece is polished and inspected, ensuring every detail meets the master's exacting standards.

What People Say
I came in having never held a setting tool. Chandan ji started me on chikni mitti pots — the same way he was taught at age ten. Two weeks later I had finished my first piece. His patience is the lesson.

I traveled from London specifically for this training. The hands-on experience in Jaipur, working with real materials in the master's workshop, was worth every mile. Now I incorporate Kundan techniques into my Western designs.

Building a real bridal set in 24K gold under Chandan ji's eye changed how I see this craft. He doesn't just teach you to set a stone, he teaches you to read it. That's the difference.

As a metalsmith in Japan, I wanted to learn stone-setting traditions from other cultures. The Kundan course was eye-opening. The way stones are set without claws, using pure gold foil, is a technique I now use in my own collections.

The Master Artisan Intensive was the most transformative month of my career. Living and working alongside the master, absorbing not just techniques but the philosophy behind each piece. I returned home a different jeweller.
